Namibia 25 March 2006 - Floods in northern Namibia creates a new fish industry

It should actually have been a new banner on this page now, but unfortunately the border control didn't let me continue to the Angolan border because I did not apply for a visa. I asked him if maybe the commander on the other side could have issued a transit visa just for a few days, and just to be nice, but nooope... I had to return, but I have not given up yet.

Namibia is wet, very wet. Even though this area is used to water flooding every other year, this time its different. The water goes all the way up to the risen paved road on both sides and for a "not so well off" tourist like me, finding a wild camp becomes more than a challenge. I should have brought a boat, then it might have worked. The people seams fine with it, the take the opportunity to catch some fish and sell... yes I bought five tiny fish that could have fitted into my snus box. Quite a bargain, they charged me 1 dollar for five freshwater fishes and yes, I should have asked the name of the fish. I have no clue...
