18 March 2006 - Betsy goes east to locate the San people, and then north to Epupa

On Saturday 18th March we continued our travel (wow - nice date!). The direction is east and north towards the Angolan border. We will try our luck at the border to get a Visa there. My Carnet finally arrived from Johannesburg on Friday 17th, so I am all set (except for the Angolan Visa). Norway don't have an embassy in Namibia anymore, Angola is not represented in Norway, so what should a poor soul do when the honourable Consul is out of the country for 10 days.

This means that we have a problem to solve. The above picture is not altered as someone accused me of doing. On the left is sixteen year old Utoororua Tjambira and her one year older sister Korunduruka Hevita (17). Different surnames indicate different fathers. They belong to the Himba tribe and travelled from Epupa in the far north to Windhoek to promote their tradition and sell artefacts.
