13 March 2006 - Tore Auset left Cape2Cape Monday 13 March after six weeks
|
Monday 13 March, the final day for the first co-pilot and a mixture of "sadness and happiness" breezed through the rest of the crew (Jarle and Betsy) as we departed at Windhoek International Airport (picture above). 45 days and 10.000 kilometres, about 35 percent above the planned distance, so the trip did cost a lot more than budgeted so far. But it has been great fun, so we just have to make up for it by taking some shortcuts elsewhere :-) All in all, Tore has been a great travelling companion, its difficult to see how he should have behaved to improve. I am looking forward to continue the trip, three weeks before my next co-pilot arrives and a couple of interviews before arriving in Luanda, Angola. The roads are told to be terrible, so that could make some interesting travelogues. Keep visiting, the excitement together with Betsy will never end! |
