1 March 2006 - Cape Town, South Africa - Cable and power trouble in Cape Town
|
After a day of disappointments it was an exciting trip in the mountain awaiting us. It has been a power problem all over the cape region since we entered the area and people have been affected all the way from Georges to Cape Town. Those power shortages was also going to affect us in our attempt to reach the great Table Mountain. After Betsy brought us up to the cableway takeoff, we had to return without so much standing in the ticket que. NO MORE rides that day. We met two smiling couples from Steinkjer that also had to return without the ride up the mountain. Looks like we are not the only Norwegians in this region of the World and I also got an sms from Norway (from my secretary) that there were a couple from my village in Norway down here too. We have no idea of how come they have picked up the roomers that we were in the neigbourhood, its not that we hang out on the hottest spots in the evening either. We have no clue. It might be Betsy! The picture is from a trip to Robben Island, Sunday 1 March. As the Guide told us, it was a tragic island, and it was many brave souls that ended there fighting for freedom. NOT the man in the picture. |
