It is always a race before any big event, cape2cape is no different. And we made it in time! We left Midrand exactly on the clock, early in the morning, just to get stuck in a major que on the highway to Alexandra. I wanted to visit Ouma (Mabel) and her family for the last time in many years and I also wanted Tore to see the township. We managed both with bravour and hopefully I will meet the familiy again when I head for South Africa in 2010, its World Cup of course.

We also got a last minute call from NTC, Veerenigen, where they told us to come and install the rock sliders. Well, after waiting three months, they finally decided to help me. It should only take half an hour to install it, so we had plenty of time to reach Kruger. Well, it took three hours and Kruger we missed.

BUT, we are on the road, we are happy and who cares if we are one day late! Cape2Cape is ON THE AIR!
