This is our friend Fri that looks so
much forward to see us as we return time after time. The
first two days she used sign language to us, but she has
grown more comfortable and it turns out, she can speak
English. Eli and me couldn't really figure out what was
wrong or what was right, so we settled with the signs.

I guess we have never camped that
close to a church before and will we ever again? The
rain forced my partner to move indoors and luckily they
had waterproof rooms with shower and toilet. Even a
balcony where we could enjoy our beer, electricity to
charge batteries. Everything was okay except for Elis
mattresses. They were beyond complain.

Eli with the mysterious Fri. She even
used sign language to her grandmother, so what did we
miss??? We found this place very satisfying and very
close to the businesses we were about to do within the
city. Quiet but wet. Eli slept in a room because of a
leaking tent.

Close to the beach, black powderish
fine sandy beach. Too bad the rain played a major role
during our stay and forced us to abandon the place. The
last night Eli had to move into one of the rooms in the
hotel complex up the hill.
|

It looks extraordinary beautiful, but
when you look closer, its polluted by the very own
people that runs the place. They use this as a dumpsite
for garbage. |

Not an everyday sort of camping, but
we surely were protected by the Lord during the night. |

Our first camping experience in Cameroon and we were
lucky. We turned off the main road into a small gravel
road and continued a kilometer before we "found it".
When we are visiting "village people" like the families
in this homestead, we should have taken more time to get
to know them. We had a schedule though and had to move
on.
We remember the house we were invited in to, were the
main attraction was the television. They couldnt adjust
it perfectly, but the sound was very good. Then the
coach and chairs on the bumby dirt floor was a sight for
urban souls.
|

I dont know if Eli apreciate or hate being in focus when
she works, but who cares... Even if she hates it, she
smiles and so did our neigbours. They never saw
something like this nor ever gotten any tourist visits.
We arranged a competition among them and the prices were
clothes, hats and Elis dress!!!!! |
