12 year old Luka took us around in the
village Chembe, which is the biggest traditional fishing
village in Malawi. Thousands of tourists visit Cape MacLear
every year to either scuba dive, surf, dive or simply enjoy
the beautiful surroundings at the Nature Reserve.
Together with too many other African
children, Luka's family are struck by the deadly HIV
epidemic. The main breadwinner died two years ago, and the
mother is now too weak to work. Six children are then
dependent on the older brother who is working as a guide and
a beach boy for the visiting tourists. |
